| Background & Experience | ||
| Mr. Smits started his commercial real estate career as an intern in the Downtown Los Angeles office of Julian J. Studley Inc. During his internship at Studley, Mr. Smits aided a team in developing new tenant representation leads in the greater Los Angeles area.
After his time spent at Studley, Mr. Smits took a position as a research analyst for Colliers International in their Carlsbad, CA office. While at Colliers, Mr. Smits was responsible for marketing team and individual broker property listings, overseeing data entry for internal databases and intranets, preparing quarterly reports by industry, product type and submarket, and creating market and trend reports. Following his time with Colliers International, Mr. Smits took an intern position at The Walt Disney Company in their Corporate Operations and Real Estate Division. At The Walt Disney Company, Mr. Smits was primarily responsible for aiding in the allocation of Disney owned or occupied space to Disney business units based on space requirements. Additionally, Mr. Smits assisted in tracking financing and approvals based on dollar amount of project requests, handling communication between Disney CORE and Disney business units, and supporting Disney’s only two west coast real estate managers in daily business actions. |
