Scope of Service Experience
Steve Watson has over 30 years of experience specializing in retail leasing and the development of shopping centers.

In 2005 Steve joined the Ontario office of NAI Capital, a full service commercial brokerage firm with 15 offices in Southern California. In 2006 he relocated to the firm’s Encino office to focus on corporate accounts. Currently Steve Watson works closely with NAI Capital’s Corporate Services Division and has represented several national retail and/or restaurant firms. Some of his clients include: Performance Bicycles, Bear Rock Cafe, Bruegger’s Bagels, Burlington Coat, Johnny Rockets, and Sandella’s Flatbread Café, many of which include franchise operations.
Education
- Trained seventeen leasing agents in his first ten years with Paul Elis & Co.
- Taught Commercial classes for fifteen continuing education credits at CSUN & CSUF
- Created and wrote three panel presentations for ICSC idea exchanges
- Led roundtables at the ICSC spring national conventions
- Steve has had several articles published in various Real Estate Publications
Background & Experience
Prior to joining NAI Capital, Steve worked ten years with Paul Elis & Co. in Encino before opening an office for the San Francisco based firm Terranomics in Sherman Oaks. His first project with them was Loehmann’s Plaza in Huntington Beach, California. Steve’s eleven year tenure with this firm allowed him to continue acquiring sites for the development of shopping centers as well as returning to the representation of tenants. He also worked as a tenant rep broker with R.L. Pratt & Associates in Marina Del Rey. During his eight year tenure with this firm, he completed multiple lease transactions with such tenants as: Longs Drug Stores (3), Staples (2), Great Clips for Hair (27), Forever 21 (19), and Fashion Bug (9) Over the span of his career he has also completed multiple leases with: Marshalls (2) Albertson’s (3) Vons (2), Denny’s (3) Karl’s toys (3), Numero Uno Pizza (9), Mom’s Ice Cream (7), Miller’s Outpost (5), Payless Shoes (6), Castagnola’s Lobster House (3), and Wherehouse Records (4) among others.
